The first and original Montessori school in Texas is the Allen Montessori Academy that was established in 1982. The mission of this school was to offer high quality year-round education to children from the ages of 6weeks to 6 years. The school created a warm and loving environment to awaken the imagination of the children to the endless possibilities in modern life. The school further set out to create an atmosphere where both children and adults could fins friendship and support from each other. Being the first contact with formal education it provided the building blocks from lasting skills and attitudes to support the learners in their life of learning.

The values and methodology used in the school is based on the work of Dr. Maria Montessori, born 1870 and died in 1952. The method encourages learners to ask questions to broaden their understanding of the world and others around them. The method further aims at addressing the needs of each individual child and builds their needs, strengths and their passions.

Teachers used are all Montessori certified and dedicated in their belief that children should develop into capable, self-directed and independent individuals. Classrooms are designed with a wide range of materials to attract the attention of the children and the concepts presented are in sequenced order. This is under the guidance of experienced teachers with years of experience.
